Bulgarian Highlights

  1.Day: / Arrival
Arrival in Sofia. Meet and Transfer  to a 3- or 4-Star Hotel. Welcome drink. Dinner in a Bulgarian style restaurant with a life music and folk dances. Overnight.

 2. Day: 318Km/ Sofia – Koprivschtiza -  Etara – Veliko Tarnovo
After breakfast departure for the museum town  Koprivshtiza, which is protected in its entirety as a historical monument. The numerous museums, the old stone bridges and walls, the wooden yard gates, 100-year-old buildings and courtyards in their typical colours, all take you back to times long gone.
Later in the day passing through the spectacular Shipka pass to the open-air ethnographical museum  of “Etara” . In the late afternoon arriving in Veliko Tarnovo. Accommodation for 2 nights in 3- or 4-Star Hotel. Dinner.

3. Day: 30Km/ Veliko Tarnovo – Arbanassi – Veliko Tarnovo
Sightseeing of the old Bulgarian capital city, featuring its numerous museums and archaeological sites and a breathtaking view over this picturesque town from the Holy hill. Visit some of the 40 monasteries  erected in the picturesque gorges of the Yantra river. Visit the museum  village Arbanassi – a famous Bulgarian museum town. Austere houses that resemble minor fortresses on the outside, with high walls and heavy gates,iron grids and secret hiding places. The oldest of the Arbanassi’s five churches is The Birth Christ (1637-1649) is a genuine art gallery with over 3500 stunningly realistic figures and Biblical scenes, painted by unknown artists throughout the ages.   
Dinner in guests houses.

 4. Day: 360Km Veliko Tarnovo - Varna – Nessebar
Sightseeing tour of Varna and visit of the Archaeological  Museum. It keeps more than 100 000 objects beginning with the  Old Stone Age period. The most impressing is the Oldest Gold in the World found near Varna.
Arrival in Nessebar. Accommodation for 2 nights  in a 4* hotel. Dinner. 

 5. Day: 40Km/  Nessebar
Sightseeing of the old fisher town Nessebar.  The ancient town of Nessebar, which has been declared a reserve, is located on a smalrocky peninsula. It has preserved a lot of ancient monuments including the Thracian, Greek, Roman and Byzantine period. Its two parts (old and new) are full of life with music and entertainment. Sightseeing of Old Nessebar by foot, including the Archaeological museum and some of the medieval churches.  Visiting the Thracian tomb in Pomorie – the biggest one from the Roman period.
Dinner.

 6. Day: 270Km/ Nessebar – Kazanlak - Plovdiv
After breakfast departure for Plovdiv. On the way visiting Kazanlak – the famous Thracian tomb and the ethnographic museum of the rose. In Plovidv sight seeing of the city, including the old quarter, the Ethnographic museum, the Icon museum and the Roman Amphi-Theatre . Accommodation in a 3- or 4-Star Hotel. Dinner in a fine restaurant in the old part of the city.

 7. Day: Plovdiv – Batchkovo monastery – Plovidv
Founded nine centuries ago, Bachkovo Monastery is located 28 km south of Plovdiv in the picturesque Chaya river valley. Its monumental architecture, artistic and cultural significance are comparable only to that of Rila Monastery. Beside with it original architecture, this scared adobe also attracts visitors with the famous murals of its churches and buildings.
Option to visit one of the best wine cellars named “Todoroff” in Brestovitza village.

 8. Day: 280Km/ Plovdiv – Rila monstery - Sofia
After breakfast departure for the 10-th century  Rila monastery – one of Europe’s largest monasteries. Sightseeing of the monastery  featuring the unsurpassed frescoes of the main church, the monastery museum and its exquisite architecture.  Continue to Sofia. Accommodation for 2 overnights in a 3- or 4-Star Hotel. Dinner.

 9. Day/ Sofia
After breakfast sightseeing tour of Sofia, featuring  the Alexander Newski Golden-Domed Cathedral, the 4-th century St. Georges church and the treasure of the National Museum of  history, including the worlds oldest gold. transfer to the airport. Dinner outside the hotel.

 10. Day/ Departure  - After breakfast your tour ends with transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
