Opera Festival - BOOK NOW!

This special tour is dedicated to the devine Opera music festival in Plovdiv in the fantastic scenery of the Roman Amphitheater. The Opera festival former known as The Verdi festival has become a favourite summertime tradition. It is held annually in the ancient Philipoppolis Roman Amphitheater in the Old town of Plovdiv.

The Alexander Nevsky Golden-Domed Cathedral. The crypt of the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky displays painting and applied arts from the Bulgarian Middle Ages and Revival. Visit the St. Sofia church, one of the oldest churches in Europe, that is still operating. Visit the 4th century Church of St. George – the earliest and best reserved building in inner old Serdica. Next to the church is situated the Archaeological Museum – the oldest museum in Bulgaria. Its collection is very rich: the head of Apolon from bronze, the Thracian gold treasure of Valchitran, a Thracian funeral mask from gold and many others. Visit the Banya-Baschi mosque – a valuable monument of Islamic architecture. The other museums are situated in the beautiful quarter Boyana. The Boyana Church consists of three parts from three different periods. It is in the UNESCO List of World and Cultural Heritage. Visit the National historical Museum that includes subjects from different cultures, lived on the territory of the country.

22.06.    SofiaPlovdiv
After breakfast departure to Plovdiv. Sightseeing tour  of Plovdiv. Plovdiv – more ancient than Bulgaria itself. Its indelible marks are still to be seen today: the marble – tiled Forum, the Roman Stadium, the Ancient Theatre, rising above the Old Plovdiv is an original heritage park that lives on, an architectural phenomenon combining the splendor of stately homes with the modesty of cobblestone lanes. Every single house here has its own allure and fascination. The  Ethnographic Museum, the art galleries, churches and street of folk arts and crafts are major landmarks of Old Plovdiv.

23.06.   Plovdiv – Bachkovo monastery - Brestovitsa – Plovdiv
Breakfast and travel to the Bachkovo Monastery . Founded nine centuries ago, Bachkovo Monastery is located 28 km south of Plovdiv in the picturesque Chaya river valley. Its monumental architecture, artistic and cultural significance are comparable only to that of Rila Monastery. Beside with it original architecture, this scared adobe also attracts visitors with the famous murals of its churches and buildings.
Departure to the village of Brestovitsa, where is situated one of the best Bulgarians wincellar . Wine tasting and lunch in wincellar “Todoroff”.
