Experience tour along the Rhodope Railway

Here is something special for all who love nature – a trip by a narrow-gauge railway – the Rhodope Railway  through Rila Mountain,Pirin Mountain and the Rhodopes, together with many walking tours.

The Septemvri–Dobrinishte narrow- gauge railway is the only operating narrow-gauge railway in Bulgaria. The route leads from Septemvri to Dobrinishte over Velingrad, Yakoruda, Razlog and Bansko towns, linking the western part of the Upper Thracian Plain with the Western Rhodopes, Rila and Pirin mountains. Due to the characteristics of the route through the mountains, the narrow- gauge railway Septemvri-Dobrinishte is also known as the Alpine railway on the Balkans.

Plovdiv is one of the oldest towns in Europe – the beginning of its history dates back to 4,000 years BC. The town in its present appearance surrounds seven hills – the hills of Plovdiv. They are an inseparable part of the town’s history.

We start with a visit to the Rila monastery – the most important monument for Bulgarian culture and spirituality. In 1983 it was proclaimed a monument of global culture by UNESCO.

This journey can absolutely satisfy every tourist’s wish because of the magnificent nature views it shows and the one-chance experience on the most wonderful narrow-gauge railway in the world!
