UNESCO Heritage tour

UNESCO Heritage tour: The small territory of Bulgaria includes many breathtaking sights. 9 of them are under the protection of UNESCO. We offer to you an 8 days’ cultural tour through Bulgaria’s different historical periods.

Our tour begins with Boyana Church, which owes its global fame mainly to the wall-paintings of 1259 which demonstrate the exceptional achievements of the Bulgarian medieval culture. Each of more than 240 figures depicted in the church has unique individuality and high artistic value.

We continue to the Sveshtarska Thracian Royal Tomb.  Due to its remarkable architecture and its artistic decoration, the Sveshtarska tomb is included on the list of global cultural inheritance of UNESCO.

Nessebar is one of the most ancient towns in Europe, founded 3200 years ago. A walk through the streets of the old  Nesebar makes you feel the unique atmosphere of the past and wonder over the beauty  of the unknown town.

The unique stone relief known as the Madara Horseman presents you another historical era. We don’t have  exact  information about the creator of the relief and the names of the horsemen. We can only appreciate  the long and hard work on the stone relief and feel the spirit of the past.

The Ivanovo Monastery owes its unequalled cultural and historic value predominantly to the mural paintings dating from the 13th and 14th century and preserved in five of the rock churches.

The Tsarevets Hill Archaeological Reserve is situated in the eastern part of the town of Veliko Turnovo.

The Rila monastery – one of the Europe’s largest monasteries. This is the most impressive monastery compound in the country, whose architectural and artistic magnificence has earned it a due place in the List of the world cultural and natural heritage, under UNESCO protection.

Kazanlak is the home of the Thracian kings and an attractive tourist destination. The country’s largest and best preserved Thracian tombs are found here, and they are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, together with the Museum of Roses.
